About Wandering Jen

Welcome to Wandering Jen! A Travel blog dedicated to helping single moms travel more with and without their kids.

Being a working mom can be a chaotic whirlwind of 5 am alarm clocks, breakfasts in the car, and mountains of unpaid bills. And I dont know about you, but theres one thing that always makes it worthwhile… traveling!

Traveling has always been an escape from the realities of single motherhood and work. A place where my daughter and I have been able to experience new cultures, see amazing sites, or just lounge on the beach.

Have you ever felt like traveling is just too hard to do?

At Wandering Jen, I provide practical solutions for moms who want to see that world but don’t think they have the time or resources to do so.

This is why it’s MY MISSION to help other moms everywhere learn how to travel on a budget, with or without their kids! Just because you’re a single mom, doesn’t mean you have to give up your dream of traveling.

So come with me as I explore the world, travel the US in my Camper Van, or even discover my home states. Big or small… there’s always a way to incorporate travel into your life!

Let’s spark some creativity with travel tips, destination ideas, packing lists, budget-friendly vacations, and everything else you need to get out and travel!

Who am I?

I’m a mom to a super-sassy little girl and live in the suburbs of Phoenix Arizona. I’ve been a single working mom since the day my daughter came into my life. My love of travel has never diminshed and I;ve learced how to travel with my daughter at a young age, and take trips by myself.

My daughter is a teenager now who has soaked up my love of travel and now we go anywhere and everywhere we can. We bought a Camper Van that we love to use for everything from weekend camping around Arizona to long road trips to National Parks and beyond.

As she’s gotten older, I’ve even learned to love solo travel and have gone a few places on my own.

I’m also an RN and dog mom who loves to read and be outdoors. You’ll find my paddleboarding, camping, and hiking around Arizona as often as I can.
